How do i use xmarks

I love Xmarks. To me, along with the Google Toolbar , it is an essential Web browser extension. And, now-sob! All Xmarks does is synchronize your bookmarks and passwords across every computer you have. Doesn't sound like much? To me, with over half-a-dozen computers I use every day, it's a life-saver. You don't need to be able to keep your house warm in the winter with PCs alone to get value from Xmarks. Just being able to keep your home and work PCs bookmarks and passwords in sync is invaluable.

So, instead of having to manually drag my collection of bookmarks with me from one PC to another, and try to keep a few dozen passwords in my head, Xmarks let me keep my Web stuff neat, tidy, and best of all, mindlessly easy, no matter what PC I happened to be using.

That's all about to change. Last night I got an e-mail reading, "Xmarks will be shutting down our free browser synchronization services on January 10, These are all fine programs, but they also all have one problem in common: They're not Xmarks. None of them do everything that Xmarks does.

Only Firefox Sync comes close, but, like the name says, it only works with Firefox. For many this may be simpler than combining Dropbox and KeePass , although it can only sync browser passwords. Make sure you use a strong password that you won't forget to protect your passwords however, or you just might lose them.

The main potential use is obvious: sync the bookmarks and passwords on all your various computers. There's more to this than that, though. Since this program works on every browser it's useful even if you only use a single computer. If you use multiple browsers, for example, this program is a great way to keep your bookmarks and passwords consistent between them.

It's also worth noting that XMarks is a great way to ensure your bookmarks and passwords are backed up, meaning you can quickly restore them if your computer should ever break. I'm convinced some of you Opera lovers are going to come out of the woodwork here, because you always do when multiple browsers come up. You'll soon be saying that this plugin doesn't support Opera, and as such cannot claim to support "all major browsers.

I put some thought into this, and decided it's not relevant. Why would an Opera user need to sync bookmarks from another browser? No Opera user would be caught dead using any other browser under any circumstances, and I'm fairly certain Opera has bookmark syncing built in alongside its bundled email server.

So don't worry; I'm not slighting you and neither is XMarks. All of us understand that your devotion to that amazing browser means you've no need for such things! XMarks is a very simple way to keep your passwords synced across computers and browsers.

Select the way you want to deal with the previous data of server and your computer. You can merge data on the server with data on your computer if you want your old bookmarks and passwords on your current computer. Your data bookmarks and Password will start syncing. All the data on server will appear on your computer and vice versa. You will get notification of successful synchronization of bookmarks and password.

You can easily sync all your bookmarks on all the four browsers. The basic steps for syncing bookmark is similar for all the browsers. If you are a Chrome user then you can install Chrome extension in beta version of Chrome. You can view all your bookmarks by logging into Xmarks website. You can also view and delete bookmarks, share these bookmarks with other users via email. Go to Xmarks and install the corresponding extension for your browser. No other feature is in vogue now as is the Dark mode.
